Red, White, and Blue Berries

I wanted to do something a little different for our 4th of July cookout this year, specifically as it relates to dessert. I usually do the classic sheet cake with a flag design made of strawberries, blueberries, and cool whip.  This year, though, I’m doing these red, white and blue strawberries. I think they turned out pretty darn cute and definitely easy. My kids are so happy today to be the taste testers. 🙂

Strawberries, washed and patted dry

Melted white chocolate

Blue Sprinkles

Parchment Paper

Melt your white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl, stirring frequently to keep it from burning on the bottom. You could also use a double boiler if you’d like.

Dip each strawberry in white chocolate, about 2/3 of the way up to the stem.

Have a bowl of your blue sprinkles ready and dip the bottom half of the white chocolate into the sprinkles.

Place each berry onto parchment paper.  Let sit until white chocolate is hardened. You can do this more quickly by placing them into the fridge.

Serve and enjoy!

  3. Really cool. You are an artist and a superlative chef. Perfect for a patriotic homecoming this Thanksgiving for family members returning from overseas service.

They should serve these at the White House.
